Job Description:

SUMMARY: This is a full-time, one year renewable, personal services contract position at the WG-09 equivalent grade level.
This position is located in the Defensive Equipment and Armored Vehicles (DEAV) Division, Office of Physical Security Programs, Countermeasure Directorate (C), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Department of State (DOS). DEAV fields equipment for the protection of life and property from terrorism.
The hourly pay range for a WG-09 position is $27.95 through $32.68

Job Responsibilities:

Performs a wide variety of repairs and modifications and incorporates manufacturer-approved changes and adjustments on revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, pump action shotguns, and all related accessories and equipment.

Makes modifications and repairs to approved weapons, which may include installation and fitting of standard parts, reshaping standard parts, minor machining operations, gauging, and deburring. Restores weapons to factory-approved specifications.

Job Requirements:

Serves as an instructor in armorer-related courses or topics. Prepares audiovisual aids, manuals, and equipment needed during classroom instruction.

Ensures the proper use, care, cleaning, storage, repair, and maintenance of government property ranging from machinery to weapons systems and vaults. Assists in issuance/de-issuance of weapons and shipping, and inspection of received parts and weapons for inventory acceptance.
