Job Description:
The incumbent of this position serves as the Special Agent in Charge, in the Off ice of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of Investigations (OI), Office of Special Reviews and Professional Responsibility (OSRPR). Incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating a comprehensive investigative program to ensure the efficiency and economy in OIG’s program which is designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in the total spectrum of agency activity.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating a comprehensive investigative program to ensure the efficiency and economy which is designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in the total spectrum of agency activity.
- Incumbent is responsible for conducting comprehensive investigations and special reviews encompassing allegations of criminal conduct, serious administrative infractions, and integrity violations.
- Establishes and maintains close and cooperative working relationships within the Agency, other Government Agencies, and other law enforcement entities (federal, state, local, and tribal) with related interests to advance OIG programs and objectives.
- Coordinates with other OIG offices, other Government Agencies, and other law enforcement entities (federal, state, local, and tribal) officials to resolve highly complex problems where jurisdictions may be obscure or diff used.
- Develops and oversees new projects for business process improvements, evaluating results, identifying gaps, overlaps, and areas for efficiencies, inputs/outputs, and recommends effective solutions for continuous improvement to senior management.
- Establishes metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.
- Receives and evaluates allegations and recommends appropriate investigative activity to the Chief Investigative Counsel (SES).
- Serves as the technical and programmatic OIG liaison with Federal Prosecutive and investigative offices for special investigations of an extremely complex and sensitive nature with high programmatic and/or national impact.
Job Requirements:
- You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off /closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: (1) Providing guidance and counsel to the lower level staff on a daily basis; (2) Analyzing data and providing analytical support in response to investigations, data requests, and other special requests of priority or urgency; and (3) Overseeing and leading investigations.
