Job Description:

The Treasury team has responsibility for managing cash, liquidity, funding and market risk for Shawbrook bank. On a day-to-day basis Treasury controls the Shawbrook’s flow of funds to ensure that there is sufficient cash to disburse loans and pay savings customers’ withdrawals. Over a longer term Treasury leads the Bank’s funding programmes to meet the bank’s growth plans and ensure that it has sufficient liquid assets put aside to meet any eventuality As the Treasury Analyst you will play a full role in the work of the team, undertaking regular activities and becoming involved in projects. This will include a mandate to instruct transactions of several million pounds; supporting cashflow forecasting and liquidity analysis; preparing reports for the bank’s Asset & Liability Committee; and helping to analyse the complex information needed for FX and interest rate hedging. The role offers a candidate with existing Treasury experience to develop a full range of involvement in the Bank’s Treasury activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Forecast cashflow on a daily and weekly basis, using subjective judgement where necessary
  • Prepare market risk reporting for Treasury, Risk, ALCo and the Board using the ALM system (ALMIS)
  • Support the execution of the Bank’s IRRBB hedging programme via interest rate swap transactions
  • Support Treasury product control process, ensuring financial instruments and balance sheet items are correctly represented in Treasury systems and that they are correctly valued.
  • Determine and execute strategy for daily cash transfers between the Bank of England and nostro bank accounts
  • Execute FX spot and swap transactions to match the bank’s FX exposures
  • Support the investment of the Bank’s liquid asset portfolio

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of Bank capital, wholesale funding, liquidity and derivative hedging instruments
  • Extensive knowledge of UK regulatory rules related to the Bank’s Treasury function
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Bank Treasury environment or similar
  • Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite – Excel, Word, Power-Point)
  • ALMIS, Quantum and Bloomberg knowledge advantageous, but not essential

Qualification & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) within a numerical field
