Job Description:

As a vital part of the Legal and Regulatory division, our Employee Regulation team has a critical role to play. In this high-profile role, you’ll be interacting with key stakeholders, senior management and subject matter experts across the bank. You’ll be ensuring the ongoing maintenance, implementation and development of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) Framework, together with other linked regulatory requirements.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the SMCR framework, standards, and policies are managed effectively and kept up to date
  • Providing support to Senior Managers in relation to their regulatory responsibilities and ensuring supporting paperwork is up to date
  • Reviewing key regulatory papers relating to SMCR to assess the impact on the bank
  • Managing relationships with regulators
  • Working across lines of business with other key stakeholders to deliver an integrated approach
  • Delivering key SMCR requirements, specifically in relation to senior management approvals, across Santander and its subsidiaries

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime is an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into comprehensible messages for a range of audiences
  • Confidence in approaching and engaging with senior management
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge on key regulatory requirements in relation to the SMCR
