Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the team responsible for implementation of DevOps strategy and automation pipelines to deliver our GCP Data Platform.
• Build, continuously improve/scale, and maintain GCP infrastructure to optimise our data products and data pipelines for performance and cost
• Technical SPOC for our Business Partners from initial automation concept, through into BAU support and on-going incident management
• Design, implementation and monitoring of our CI/CD pipelines covering infrastructure, code build and deployment
• Drive and mentor data engineering teams to ensure strategic data product outcomes that incrementally reduce our data estate technical debt
• Automate the provision of our front-line applications into containers across multiple technologies across our data portfolio.
• Drive the design, development, test, optimisation, and deployment of stabile data solutions to Google Cloud Platform that are cost-effective
• Liaise daily with Delivery Managers to ensure our activities are on track and with Platform Owners to ensure technical issues are overcome.
• Input into planning, estimation and prioritisation within an agile framework to fulfil the backlog
• Ensure we deliver the right support documentation, processes and supplier handoffs to ensure new data products run successfully in BAU

Job Requirements:

You will have 5+ years proven experience in automation with excellent knowledge of the best engineering and data practices in a commercial environment. Ideally you should have a very comfortable knowledge in the following areas:

• BitBucket, Jenkins and CI/CD automation patterns. Bash Scripting as bonus.
• Nexus, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible and multi-cloud provider expertise (GCP, AWS, Azure) – Kubernetes (GKE) is ideal.
• Exposure to implementations of Cloud Data Warehouses and Data Lakes, NiFi, Kafka, Machine Learning or AI extremely useful.
• Daily experience of JIRA and confluence and automated testing and release management tools is preferred.
• A degree or relevant Cloud (Google preferred) engineering certifications are essential.
