Job Description:

A Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) is needed to serve as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for Young Heroes in the Kingdom of Eswatini. Young Heroes became a registered NGO in July 2014 after 8 years serving orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in the country as a program set up by the National Emergency Response Council on HIV/AIDS to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS on OVC. Young Heroes works with different communities in all four regions of the country on projects that serve OVCs and adolescents and train caregivers on early childhood development and income generation projects. The organization is seeking support from a Peace Corps Response Volunteer to improve their monitoring and ensuring high quality service delivery to the beneficiaries in a timely manner and cost effective way.


Job Responsibilities:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, with a bachelor’s degree in social science or a related field and three years of work experience in implementing monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS related programs, is needed to work with the M&E Manager and other staff of Young Heroes on monitoring and evaluation systems, data quality management, program monitoring, and program evaluation. The PCRV will develop monitoring and evaluation standard operating procedures and data collection tools and train community-level data collectors on Quality Management standards. The goal of the assignment is to enhance the operations of Young Heroes through monitoring and evaluation best practices to pursue their mission empowering Eswatini’s most vulnerable youth to achieving their fullest potential.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in implementing monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS related programs
  • Experience working on USAID-funded Projects
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Experience in performance measurement, including target setting, reporting, database management and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans;
  • Experience in training and providing mentoring support to Data collectors
