Job Description:
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NC SBI) is looking for a Human Resources Technician I to join our HR team supporting approximately 450 employees of the Bureau.
Initiates actions, both position (OM actions) as well as employee (PA actions) in the HR/Payroll system (BEACON);
Serves as the technical resource for supervisors/managers/employees regarding time administration;
Initiates and compiles reports from the HR/Payroll system focused on time entry as well as HR actions;
Engages with HR staff, managers, and candidates in providing recruitment support for our Sworn Law Enforcement Recruitment program;
Assists with other HR activities.
The position is located at the NC SBI Headquarters. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with Benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
The salary grade for this position is GN07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Job Requirements:
To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL the following:
Knowledge and demonstrated experience with compiling data and generating reports using an HR data system;
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employees, and supervisors/managers;
Skill in communicating clearly and concisely in oral and written form;
Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products with demonstrated proficiency using Excel;
Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize work.
Selected candidates will undergo and must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation which includes: pre-employment polygraph examination; credit and arrest checks; interviews with associates, personal and business references; verification interviews of employers; verification of education achievement; urinalysis drug screening; and submission of fingerprints.
