Our huge distribution centres stock every product we sell in our stores. And they never stop. 24 hours a day, our teams receive and manage products from across our many different warehouse sections, including fruit and veg, meat and poultry, alcohol and frozen goods.
Working alongside the Logistics leadership team, you’ll lead the Ambient warehouse operations team in all aspects of operations, KPIs and compliance, playing a pivotal role in fostering a culture of leadership and accountability throughout your Regional Distribution Centre’s warehouse operations. It’s full-on, fast-paced and not for the faint-hearted. And you wouldn’t want it any other way.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inventory control ownership
- Identify employee potential using standarised tools for developing actions to drive performance
- Ensure compliance with UK Law and Lidl GB standards
- Order picking, stock intakes and floor area management responsibility
- Agree goals and delegate responsibilities to employees, including giving them the required scope and freedom to complete their tasks
- Personnel responsibilities – for example recruitment, employment contracts and grievances
- Ambient warehouse cost control and analysis
- KPI reviewing and planning for the department
- Strategic planning and control of resources, personnel, and costs
- Capacity planning and acts as a lead contact for external warehouse operations
- Health and Safety reporting – both personnel and equipment related
- Promote a positive and motivational working environment and effective, efficient teamwork
- Manage employees in accordance with the company principles and the leadership model
Job Requirements:
- The ability to lead by example – despite unexpected challenges
- To possess a detailed and thorough knowledge of warehouse operations
- A proven ability to plan for the short, medium and long-term
- Experience in the implementation of a variety of HR and Recruitment policies and understands best-practice
- The ability to initiate stakeholder discussions and build lasting relationships both internally and externally
- Able to identify and nurture talent and supports others to do the same
- Experience working with a large, dynamic team
