Job Description:

Performs, advises on, or supervises work in any of the phases of budget administration when such work requires knowledge and skill in applying budget-related laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods, and techniques. Performs analytical, technical, administrative duties in the formulation, justification, presentation, enactment, and execution phases of the budget process. Provides detailed accounting of the utilization of manpower resources and justifies authorization requests for the President’s Budget. Serves as the bridge between overseers and the internal planning and programming build process, balancing DIA’s total resource requirements against those available and those planned while outlining alternative means of resourcing requirements.


Job Responsibilities:

This position is located in Tampa, Florida and is with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

This position is responsible for performing the following duties:

The incumbent serves as a Budget Analyst at USSOCOM J2. As such, is responsible for planning and conducting all phases of program development, budget formulation, program/budget presentations and justifications, and budget execution.

Participates in the implementation of policies, procedures and instructions concerning budget calls and the formulation and presentation of financial requirements.

Performs and coordinates all actions necessary to execute the budget. Conducts an in-depth analysis of budget requests, receives and allocates approved resource targets for assigned accounts, and ensures obligation and expenditure goals and program objectives are met.

Provides budgetary guidance and review by interpreting laws, regulations, policies, and guidance, serving as the primary expert on the treatment of budgetary data. Ensures all budget transactions are properly supportable and follow the overall financial strategic plan.

Serves as a budget representative in working groups to plan and develop internal financial strategies. Participates in briefings and meetings to provide budgetary advice and assistance.

Serves as a representative on internal and external working groups to plan and develop strategies to address various operational issues and concerns.

Performs other duties as assigned.
