Job Description:
As a Response Plans Lead, support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR), Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), Emergency Operations Center (EOC) exercise, training, and evaluation activities with regards to the ongoing COVID-19 response.

Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze information from multiple sources to identify trends.
- Submit draft Situation Reports to Planning Section Chief for review and approval.
- Develop recommendations and take actions as directed to sustain or improve response activities.
- Develop PowerPoint and other briefing materials for meetings and conference calls.
- Assist/develop task force/response transition efforts
- Responsible, under the direction of the Planning Section Chief/Plans Team Lead for planning and conducting meetings and conference calls, both in-person and virtual.
- Review situation reports for trends in response activities
- Maintain reports in established SharePoint and shared drive locations
- Send requests for inputs to weekly Situation Reports
- Review reports and briefings from internal and external sources to identify trends.
- Assist in developing and updating the response Incident Action Plans
- Compile inputs from response task forces into weekly Situation Reports
- Responsible, under the direction of the Planning Section Chief/Plans Team Lead for
- Coordinate completed Situation Reports and Incident Action Plans with EOC Operations
- Gather information to conduct after-action reviews and prepare after-action reports at least 1-3 a month.
- Review current CDC response plans to identify areas which need to be updated based on the current response.
- Perform other duties to support the response Planning Section as assigned
- Writing, coordinating, and developing emergency weekly response plans.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of public health program activities to include, but not limited to, laboratory processes, public health surveillance systems, medical countermeasures, and public health registries. Knowledge or background in preparedness and response is necessary as is a thorough understanding of the principles of the Incident Management System (IMS)
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education: 4+ years’ experience with a PhD; 6+ years’ experience with an MA/MS degree; 10+ years’ experience with related Associate’s Degree, or 12+ years’ related experience with no degree
- Experience related to a government consulting or homeland security environment preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in the development and execution of preparedness exercises consistent with established Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles and be able to assist with the revision of operational plans
- Knowledge working in SharePoint, or a similar collaboration environment
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Outlook and Word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Knowledge of techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems, as they arise; knowledge of operating guidelines governing exercise programs, and skill in briefing managers and in communicating information regarding exercise evaluation
- Knowledge of public health program activities
