Job Description:
Cathay Pacific Airways is looking for a highly organized individual to join the Payroll & Finance team as a Payroll Administrator based in Vancouver, BC. This Regular Full-Time position will support the Payroll Manager in providing accurate and on-time payroll services that are in line with established company policy and local regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in this critical team that supports full-cycle payroll for employees in the Americas.

Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all input is accurate and authorized with adherence to deadlines, internal controls and all applicable legislation and regulations
- Verification of timesheets – hours submitted, approved overtime, vacation taken, duty travel, sick leave, etc. with authorization of the appropriate operational manager
- Organization and ongoing maintenance of payroll files in accordance with all legislated and internal record retention and archiving policies, ensuring employee files are complete, up-to-date and accurate
- Respond to employee queries in a timely and professional manner
- General administration including handling incoming mail, couriers, preparation of check requisitions, refund checks/deposits, support for special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Any other reasonable task as requested
- Respond to government surveys (monthly, quarterly, annually) and meeting government reporting deadlines as required
- Preparation of Records of Employment (ROEs) requests and queries from government authorities for additional information or verification of payroll information
- Support the Hong Kong Payroll team with Inland Revenue Department (IRD) compliance reporting and ad hoc payroll requests
- Calculation and subsequent payment of payroll related remittances, monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations, preparation of audit information for pensions, Workers’ Compensation, and other benefit programs as required
- Enrolment of new hires and ongoing maintenance of all employee payroll records for the region including ground staff, cockpit crew and cabin crew
- Compilation of payroll data including computation of wages earned, deductions required, inputting changes and adjustments as required in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
- Strong organizational & time management skills, deadline-driven, and high attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team player as well as an individual contributor
- Minimum of three (3) years of Canadian and/or US payroll experience; experience in both is an advantage
- Certification or enrolled in Canadian Payroll Association and/or USA Payroll Professional program is an asset
- Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning systems is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with ADP systems (Workforce Now, [email protected], Workforce Management, Time and Attendance, etc.) is an advantage
- Strong knowledge and understanding of federal, state and provincial laws in relevance to payroll and benefits
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work processes, problem resolution and continuous process improvement
- Must have the permanent legal right to live and work in Canada
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel skills
- Customer service-oriented to both internal and stakeholders
