Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and award assigned crew members’ vacation, and manage vacation changes throughout the year;
  • Produce schedules for assigned crew members in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, Company policies and the applicable Collective Agreement;
  • Plan sufficient ground training, flight training and vacation for assigned crew members;
  • Schedule and monitor all training with the Training Centre, Managers and trainers as required;
  • Attend departmental meetings, as required;
  • Occasional travel to other bases, as required;
  • Ensure monthly blocks are completed and distributed in a timely manner in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement;
  • Maintain Crew Planning documentation and manuals and update as required;
  • Report on the crewing impact of new routes and schedule changes;
  • Work with Management to optimize route scheduling by providing suggestions on cost measures regarding most economic and effective crew utilization and associated costs;
  • Ensure work is equitably assigned in a manner that will enhance safety;
  • Generate payroll reports for assigned crew members, review for errors, and submit to Payroll department in accordance with prescribed deadlines;
  • Participate in internal audits of the Crew Planning Department;
  • Assist Flight Operations with other administrative duties as assigned, including various monthly reports for Union and Payroll;
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Liaise with the Network Planning regarding schedules and charter programs to analyze crew requirements for proposed schedules;

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
  • Mandatory computer experience (minimum 2 years in Windows, MS Word and Excel);
  • Flexibility to work overtime, if required;
  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience;
  • Four (4) years of previous experience;
  • Knowledge of Company and Transport Canada Regulations governing crew members (including flight and duty time limitations);
  • Proficiency with AIMS or other related software programs an asset;
  • Superior and proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral);
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definitive asset;
  • Thorough knowledge of schedule and blocking rules preferred;
  • Working knowledge of existing collective agreements preferred;
