Barclays Careers – Senior FO IT Developer

Job Description:

As a Barclays Senior Front Office (FO) IT Developer, you will be a part of innovative team and will be involved in the maintenance and enhancement of Dirac, which is a distributed risk aggregation system, written in FMD (in house functional programming framework), C# and C++. You will have an opportunity to participate in some exciting new projects planned for Q1 2021, such as the New Curve initiative and back testing framework.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interacting with trading, operations, finance clients and team members from the wider IT teams to scope and quickly deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
• Sharing ideas and best practice to innovate and drive key architectural decisions to deliver the FO IT strategy
• Being involved in the integration of FO IT solutions into the strategic projects within the department where required
• Providing tactical solutions on business requests to supplement the strategic tool
• Supporting the Rapid Application Development (RAD) applications and solutions suite for the Structured Equity Derivatives desk (Sales, Trading and Structuring)

Job Requirements:

• Ability to evaluative judgement and analytical skills to tackle problems using data analysis techniques
• Ability to work closely with team members and other teams identify and manage dependencies
• Technical proficiency demonstrated through a deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms and general problem solving
• Strong knowledge in C# or other OOP language

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in a functional programming language, COM, C++
