Axa Recruitment – Senior Underwriter – Professional Lines

Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our schemes hub team, responsible for the ownership, servicing and development of new and existing Financial Lines delegated authority schemes, specifically Professional Indemnity (“PI”) and Management Liability Portfolio (“MLP”) to maximise opportunities for growth and profitability, working in partnership with Brokers to deliver planned financial outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maximise “face time” with our brokers and gain regular feedback on how they feel about our service.
• Deliver planned financial results through effective underwriting of cases and focusing on profitability.
• Ensure that our Underwriting and Conduct Governance frameworks are implemented including all necessary bordereaux and empowerment checks and all structured audits.
• Complete risk assessments and due diligence reviews (in our bespoke DART platform) for existing and prospective partners to confirm their commitment to TCF.
• All underwriting guides, policy wordings and documentation to be accurate and fit for purpose throughout the lifecycle of the scheme.

Job Requirements:

• Understanding of commercial insurance market and processes, including legislative and regulatory requirements
• Strong trading capability, commercial awareness, negotiation skills and ability to build strong Broker relationships

Qualification & Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Pragmatic and confident decision maker with proven experience in decision making in technical underwriting scenarios within a commercial environment
• Educated to A level / Degree level or equivalent experience
• Progress towards CII qualification preferred
