Initially home based due to COVID-19, we encourage and enable smart working and flexibility and foresee this role being performed athome as well as in either our Central London, Weybridge or Ipswich office depending on preferences but on average you will be required to attend one of theseoffice locations 1-2 days per week as a minimum.

This entry-level Pricing Governance Analyst role sits within the Retail Insurance business, under the UK personal intermediary sector which is one of the most competitive and advanced insurance markets in the world.

It’ll see you form part of our continued journey to ensure that pricing governance is fully embedded in the Retail Pricing team, taking it to a whole new level as well as utilising your mathematical and analytical skills to govern the build of claims and optimisation models and challenge the business to put the customer at the centre of all pricing decisions. You will also need to consider data from various sources and develop core data manipulation skills.

Joining as a Pricing Governance Analyst we will fully support you in studying for the Actuarial professional qualification to become a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. The actuarial qualification contains three main components: examinations, professionalism and practical experience and AXA Retail will support you all the way. On passing each exam/course, and subject to satisfactory performance and appropriate progress with completing the Personal and Professional Development, incremental increases to salary for each exam passed will be applied.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and build the rating specifications on both Household and Motor.
  • Co-ordinate with the Risk Pricing team to ensure granular accurate risk rating and the Optimisation Market Pricing team to ensure granular accurate market rating.
  • Assist with the delivery process with the project delivery teams.
  • Analysis of MI and rating data to make pricing recommendations.
  • Assist in the design of sophisticated components and calculators.
  • Provide quality assurance and clear audit for the end to end pricing cycle.

Job Requirements:

  • Appetite to learn or enhance your machine learning and AI modelling skills
  • Good understanding of appropriate statistical techniques to build the pricing models
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to grasp the significance and meaning of a range of technical and complex issues

Qualification & Experience:

  • Good programming skills in at least one language for example SAS, R, SQL Python with a solid understanding of algorithm design
  • Good analytical, presentational and influencing skills
  • Experience of actuarial software such as Emblem is an advantage
